THEFT OF TOYOTA HILUX

 

A Tracetec client reported his Toyota Hilux stolen from Melville on the 19th August 2011. Signals were picked up from the stolen Toyota Hilux on the N4, between Middleburg and Machadodorp but the vehicle then left the N4 and went into the farming areas. Tracetec and the SAPS undertook an extensive search and all the routes to the border posts were monitored. The following day, the signals were picked up near Malelane. Tracetec, assisted by the SAPS, located and recovered the Toyota Hilux. One arrest was made. The SAPS are investigating this incident in depth as a syndicate is stealing and then moving vehicles across the border at an unknown location.
