MERCEDES BENZ RECOVERED FOLLOWING HI-JACKING

 

A Mercedes Benz, stolen during a hi-jacking on 4 March 2011, was successfully recovered by the Tracetec Recovery Team. A signal from the Tracetec tracking unit in the vehicle was received by the Call Centre from Florida on the West Rand of Johannesburg. The Recovery Team was dispatched and the SAPS contacted.The vehicle was quickly located and a suspect seen approaching the vehicle. He attempted to leave the scene when he noticed the SAPS but was apprehended and arrested.

A further three possible suspects were detained by the SAPS when they were spotted standing by a BMW, and found to be in possession of a duplicate/cloned vehicle, along with the keys belonging to two other vehicles.It is not known if any further arrests were made.The Recovery Team is congratulated for this successful recovery and arrest.
