Tracetec recovered a Volkswagen Polo, following a hi-jacking incident at Peters Field (Kemp circle) in early September. The owner’s wife was driving the car when she was confronted by a man bearing a firearm. She was ordered out of the vehicle, the suspect got into the vehicle and casually drove off. Fortunately the victim was not injured, probably because she was cooperative. It is never worth putting up resistance a human life is priceless compared to the value of a material possession.
The vehicle was activated on the Tracetec system and hi-jack and recovery teams responded. The vehicle was located at a shopping centre in Daveyton on the East Rand. The Tracetec team and SAPS followed the car to a house near Daveyton. They found the Polo parked in a garage and arrested a woman who was driving the vehicle. She reported that she had received the car from a friend. The SAPS are investigating the case and further arrests are expected.
Wouldn’t it be great if we all had such generous friends!
