A HI-JACKING AND MURDER SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

 

A hi-jacking and murder suspect is in custody, as a result of the joint efforts of the SAPS, Hawks and Tracetec. Tracetec received a report of a stolen VW Polo and missing person, the morning after the owner of the vehicle was last seen leaving her office at 8pm. Tracetec immediately activated the vehicle as stolen and recovery agents were dispatched to search for the missing vehicle. The Polo was tracked to a squatter camp in Mamelodi and found parked behind a shack. The suspect, who was apprehended in the shack, was still in possession of the victim's cell phone. The SAPS recovered the body of the victim close to the crime scene. The victim was apparently apprehended and killed in the parking area of the office park in Mooikloof where she worked. The case is now under investigation by the SAPS.
